< KNOW GOD | STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE TRINITY

We believe in one God, existing in a Trinity of Persons: FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT (John 15: 26) who are co-eternal of equal dignity and power (Matt. 3: 16-17).

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, verbally inspired and without error as originally written, and that it is the only infallible rule of faith and practice for the Christian,(2 Timothy3:162 Pedro 1:12).

THE PLAN OF SALVATION

We believe in Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:20), born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:35) whose death on the cross for the redemption of sinners provided a sufficient and complete expiation for their guilt (Eph. 1:7), and who rose again for our justification (Romans 4:25), ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the hand of the Father, interceding for all those who come unto God by Him (Hebrews 7:25). We are looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the Glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, (Titus 2:13) and believe that all things shall finally be subjected to God through Him (1 Cor. 15:25-28).

THE CHURCH

We believe that the true Church, which is the body of Christ (Eph. 1:23) is formed by the work of the Holy Spirit in all those who trust Christ as their Savior (Eph. 2:22), 1 Corinthians 12:13). We also believe in the continuity of the New Testament Church, in the form of local congregations, which are autonomous and free from external authority or control, as it is clearly defined in The Scriptures (Acts 14:27); to these bodies of congregations are given the ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as a means of a public testimony (Matthew 28:19-20: Acts 2:41-42; 18:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

THE CHRISTIAN´S MINISTRY

In view of Christ’s last command (Matthew 28:19-20), and recognizing the lost condition of all those who fail to accept the Gospel message (John 3:18, 36), we believe in the urgency of every Christian to respond to the Great Commission of Christ. ¨For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life¨ (John 3:16). It is to the work of helping to carry out the plan of God in this age that, MARANATHA, is dedicated, in conformity with the last command of our Savior to ¨be my witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth¨. With the God-given means at our disposal, the message of the Gospel, which is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth (Romans 1:16), is being literally carried out to the uttermost part of the world (Acts 1:8). We also seek to carry out the command of our Savior to teach all nations (Matt. 28:20), in addition to evangelizing them.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit as being the person who convicts mankind of sin, righteousness, and of judgment; the Christian is baptized into the body of Christ by the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who also seals them, indwells them, and guides them unto the revealed truth (John 16:8-11, 13; Romans 8:9; 2 Cor. 3:16; Eph. 1:13-14; 5:18, 1 John 2:20, 27).

THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER

We believe that all Christians are eternally secured in Christ (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Peter 1:5). However, such a glorious position and situation should not be used to live in such a fashion as to make provision for the flesh (Romans 13:13-14; Gal 5:1; 16; Titus 2:15).

THE TWO NATURES OF THE BELIEVER

We believe that the saved one possesses two natures after he has been saved, but since the Christian is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, provision is made for him to live in continuous victory (Gal 5:16-25; Eph. 4:22-24; 1 John 3:5-9). We do not accept the teaching of the eradication of the sinful nature of the believer.

THE SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD

All Christians should live in accord with the high and heavenly calling he has received, therefore, his life must be a continuous testimony that brings honor and glory to Him Who purchased him (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17).

THE ETERNAL STATE

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matt. 25:46; John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6; 12; 13). We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord (Luke 23:43; Rev. 20:4-6; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 3:21-23; 1 Thes. 4:16-17).

THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN

We believe that Satan is a created person and as such he will have an end. He is the author of sin and the cause of the fall. Satan is an archenemy of both man and woman. Eternal punishment awaits for him in the Lake of Fire (Is.14:12-17; Matt. 4:2-11; Rev. 20:10).
